Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:

An upper ridge of high pressure will begin to rebuild over the region for a warming and drying trend that will extend through the new week. General winds are expected to be fairly light but fire danger indices will gradually rise for the next 5 to 7 days. A new round of thunderstorms will begin over the south Oregon Cascades this afternoon and creep northward during the following days. Initial attack activity will increase with the lightning as it spreads northward each day.
