Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
A thermal trough remains west of the Cascades but its strength is gradually diminishing. The airmass remains warm and dry today with light general winds for most of the geographic area except the passes of the Cascades that are prone to east winds, including the Columbia River Gorge. The sunny and unusually dry pattern will continue on Sunday and Monday. Next week a reversal in the weather pattern will bring much cooler temperatures and possibly rain by midweek.
