Northwest Fire Potential Summary:

A Pacific frontal system will begin moving onto the northern Oregon and Washington coasts today. Light rain will spread inland over sections west of the Cascades. East of the Cascades expect another dry day but with higher clouds beginning to move in. On Saturday the frontal system will swing across Oregon and Washington bringing strong, shifting winds with the strongest gusts east of the Cascades. Little rain is expected east of the Cascade Crest with blowing smoke and dust likely with wind gusts above 40 mph. The potential for rapid fire growth and extreme fire behavior is high despite dropping temperatures and rising humidity.
