Active fire behavior with short crown runs, wind-driven runs and torching. Road, trail and area closures in effect. Continue direct and indirect line construction, secure containment lines and burn out as conditions allow. Transfer of command from IMT2 (Harrod) to IMT2 (Sheldon) planned for today.
Porcupine Butte OR-PRD-000491. ICT3. Unified Command (BLM/Wheeler County Fire). 10 miles E of Clarno, OR. Start 8/14. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 280 acres (-20). 30% containment. Grass and Brush. Minimal fire behavior with backing, single tree torching and creeping. Structures threatened. Reduction in acreage due to better mapping. Currently, does not meet 209 large fire criteria. Not tallied in Large Fire Summary above.
Juntura Complex OR-VAD-000145. (3 fires). ICT4. 30 miles SW of Vale, OR. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 24,301 acres (+0). 100% containment. Grass and brush. Last report unless significant activity occurs.
Simmons Gulch OR-VAD-000132. Start 8/7. 11,362 acres (+0). 100% containment.
Sheep Rock OR-VAD-000130. Start 8/7. 12,783 acres (+0). 100% containment.
