Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Continued warming trend today. A thermal trough will continue to lead to rapid warming and drying in Southwest Oregon through Saturday. This will bring elevated fire potential during the main burning periods today and Saturday due to the combination of drying fuels, gusty winds, and low humidity. A cold front will bring high winds to Central and Eastern Washington on Saturday evening elevating fire spread potential. Temperatures will cool on Sunday but then begin a steady climb towards mid-week.
