Hot and dry weather over the area yesterday with moderate humidity recoveries on the east side. Lightning over Southwest and Central Oregon with a few strikes in the Columbia Basin. Light scattered precipitation in Southwest and Central Oregon. The initial attack activity was heavy in Southwest Oregon and moderate through the rest of the Region. Two new large fires were reported in North Central Oregon.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger will continue to remain high over the geographic area today due to high temperatures and lightning in Oregon and Southern Washington. A marine push is moderating conditions on the west side but bringing gusty winds to the east side. The potential for lightning continues through Tuesday mainly in Southwest and Central Oregon. Conditions remain dry through the remainder of the week. Significant fire potential is high where lightning is focused.
