Northwest Activity Summary
Seasonal conditions with generally light winds. Lightning in southeast Oregon. Light, widely scattered precipitation on the west side. Dry east of the coastal range. Moderate initial attack yesterday.  1 new large fire in Washington and slight increase in containment on existing fires. Type 2 IMT Rabe ordered for Sutherland Fire in WA.

Structures threatened. Level 1 evacuation notice in place. IMT2 (Rabe) inbrief 6/28 at 1800. Previously reported under Wenatchee area fires.
South Wenas WA-WFS-000720 IMT3. 3 mi. S of Selah, WA. Start 6/27. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 600 acres. 0% containment. Grass and brush. Active fire behavior with wind driven runs. Structures and agriculture threatened.
Straight Hollow WA-SPD-000126. IMT3. 12 mi. E of Wenatchee, WA. Start 6/26. Full Suppression.  Cause: Lightning. 5,000 acres. 10% containment. Grass and brush. Extreme fire behavior. Special management areas and sensitive plants threatened. Previously reported under Wenatchee area fires.
Spartan WA-SES-000120. IMT3. 8 mi. SE of Wenatchee, WA. Start 6/26. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 1,500 acres. 15% containment. Grass and brush. Active fire behavior. Structures threatened. Level 2 evacuation notice in place. Previously reported under Wenatchee area fires.
Sheep Springs OR-DEF-000341. IMT3. 17 mi. NW of Sisters, OR. Start 6/26. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 10 acres. 0% containment. Timber, heavy dead and down. Moderate fire behavior. No structures threatened.

Horse Cross OR-VAD-000053. ICT3. 15 mi W of Rome, OR. Start 6/26. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 6,665 acres. 100% containment. Brush and short grass. Minimal fire behavior. Priority sage grouse habitat and special management areas threatened.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Potential for new large fires is moderating due to decreasing winds. Fire danger indices will resume rising east of the Cascades but significant additional lightning is not expected for the time being.
