7/9/2017 Morning Brief

Northwest Activity Summary
Hot and dry on the east side and seasonal conditions on the west side. Some lightning in Southeast Oregon with insignificant precipitation. Light initial attack yesterday 2 new large fires reported. IMT2, Team 6, Sheldon, was ordered for the Dry Creek fire in Southcentral Washington. Increased containment on other existing large fires.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Weather will remain dry but with some cooling Sunday and Monday. Winds will begin to increase through the Columbia Gorge and east slopes of the Cascades. There’s a risk of isolated fire starts from lightning mainly over eastern Oregon. Southeastern Oregon is at most risk for fires due to the very dry conditions being reported.
