Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Gradual warming and drying through Tuesday as a week upper-level ridge builds in. Winds will generally be light through this period. Increased potential for human caused ignitions is possible due to the eclipse event and significantly dry fuels.

Wednesday, a low pressure system is expected to track eastward across the Canadian border. This will generate a threat of isolated thunder storms for Southern Oregon Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, these chances improve for Oregon east of the Cascade crest and possibly the southern Cascades and Blue Mountains in WA. Thursdaya cold front is expected to move through the region, significantly increasing winds east of the Cascades in WA and adding a chance of thunder storms to the Columbia Basin and mountains in WA.
