Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Very warm, dry and unstable conditions today as an upper level ridge over the Northwest shifts to the east. Monsoonal moisture will continue to drift northward along and east of the Cascades keeping the threat of thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wenesday. A thermal trough will continue to shift east of the Cascades today bringing slightly cooler temperatures west of the Cascades as onshore flow prevails.
The warm and dry pattern will continue to increase overall fire potential this week. The threat of isolated dry thunderstorms across eastern Oregon Tuesday into Wednesdaymay produce an increase in initial attack.
