Northwest Fire Potential Summary
A cold front is approaching the region today bringing a significant downturn in fire potential for next week. Rain is expected to move onshore during the day Sunday then spreading east of the Cascades by evening. Gusty general winds from the southwest will kick up with this front prior to the arrival of rain. Much cooler temperatures are coming in behind the front which will result in snow at higher elevations by Monday. More rain and snow will follow this week.

Fire danger, new ignitions, and growth on existing incidents will plummet due to the wet weather moving in. This appears to be end of significant fire potential for 2017.
