Northwest Fire Weather Summary
A Pacific cold front is moving through the region today. Clouds and some brief light rain will affect sections of western Washington and northwest Oregon today. Gusty winds and cooler temperatures will accompany this system as it traverses across Eastern Washington on Saturday. Some lightning is possible over sections of Eastern Washington as well. Winds and lightning will decrease on Sunday as higher pressure rebuilds over the region. Temperatures will warm in the coming work week for the entire geographic area.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
The potential for new large fires is elevated in Central and Eastern Washington today due to the winds and any lingering ignitions from lightning. Flare-ups are possible for ongoing incidents on the east slopes of the Cascades as well where winds align with terrain channels. Fire potential conditions will moderate on Sundayand Monday as higher pressure begins to return during the coming week.
