Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Dry weather continues through the week across the region as upper level high pressure remains entrenched.  Easterly winds early today over and west of the Cascades will weaken through the day as the thermal trough moves over the Cascades, giving way to light onshore flow in places tonight and Thursday.  Easterly winds should pick up again going into the weekend as the thermal trough redevelops.  Cooler weather with a good chance for widespread precipitation is anticipated by the middle of next week.  Check local NWS fire weather planning forecasts for details in your area.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Very low relative humidity and occasionally gusty east winds will keep fire danger slightly elevated over PSAs in the Cascades and on the west side but few new ignitions are anticipated. The potential for new significant fires is expected to remain low. Units with planned or ongoing prescribed fires should pay close attention to NWS fire weather planning forecasts for wind details and timing.
