Northwest Activity Summary

Despite a lack of lightning and critical fire weather yesterday, initial attack increased substantially. Central Oregon and the Columbia Basin hosted the most activity. Several fires in the Columbia Basin reached moderate size.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary

Little change is expected in the fire weather pattern over the geographic area on Sunday. Morning clouds are expected west of the Cascades then clearing. Sunny and dry east of the Cascades. Temperatures will run below normal, especially west of the Cascades. Humidity near normal east side. No unusual wind patterns expected. Much of the coming week looks cooler than typical with some rain possible. Check local NWS forecasts for details in your area.


Northwest Fire Potential Summary

The main fire threat remains in light fuels in central Washington, central Oregon and east through the Columbia Basin. Although an increase in the number of ignitions is expected, weather and fuels conditions will continue to moderate fire spread.
