Some lingering showers will continue over eastern Oregon today before fading off tonight. A stronger frontal system will hit the Washington coast Saturday evening spreading heavier rain over the entire region Saturday night and Sunday. Expect snow at higher elevations with this system. Light general winds are expected across the region today but will increase with the approach and passage of the frontal system Saturday night and Sunday. Winds will be strong east of the Cascades following the front on Sunday. Units conducting burning over the weekend should request spot forecasts and monitor forecasted winds. See local NWS fire weather forecasts for details.
