Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
An upper trough will develop over the region today. This will bring showers and wet thundershowers to Washington and sections of northern Oregon. Lightning will result in some starts but decreased fire danger and other conditions do not appear ripe for outbreaks of new large fires due to decreased general winds and fire danger indices. Expect the atmosphere to dry and stabilize over the weekend. Dry weather is expected to continue through the Labor Day weekend.
