Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
An upper trough will redevelop over the region today brining more lightning to sections of central Washington and Oregon. Showers with the thunderstorms could be heavy at times. Lightning will result in some new ignitions but environmental conditions are not optimum for much risk of new large fires on Sunday. During the coming week expect warming temperatures and dropping humidity. General winds will be light but with poor humidity recovery on higher terrain of the Cascades. Fire danger indices will rise. A thermal trough in the Oregon Cascades will pose a risk of flareups on existing incidents being managed for long term strategy.
