Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
A thermal trough west of the Cascades on Saturday is forecasted to move into Central Oregon and Central Washington early Sunday. This will diminish the easterly winds across the Cascades but warm, dry, and unstable air will continue over much of the west side and Cascades today. Energy Release Component values are forecasted to reach their peak today for many areas in Western Oregon before a cooling trend with a westerly wind push occurs on Monday. The combination of contributing weather and fuels factors results in a continuing risk of flareups on incidents in the Cascades on Sunday.
