Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
Potential for new large fires remains relatively low Wednesday and Thursday due to stable westerly flow across much of the geographic area. The only slightly elevated risk areas for new large fires appear to be in the Columbia Basin due to a combination of wind and humidity. An additional slightly elevated risk is possible along the Canadian border on Friday due to some lightning. Overall, the threat of new large fires in the region should remain fairly low this week.
