9/20/2015 National Creek Complex Fire Update

National Creek Fire 9/20/2015
  • Firefighters completed fire line construction along the south east fire edge to the south side of the Pumice Desert.
  • A few plumes of smoke were detected yesterday within the fire’s interior. They were small and non-threatening.
  • The weather forecast for today is warmer and dryer. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 70’s, with a relative humidity of 20-30%. Winds will be from the North- North West up to 10 mph in the afternoon.
  • As fuels dry out, smoldering fire within the interior may increase to flames by mid-afternoon. Crews will monitor fire activity and are ready for initial attack should they need.
  • Crews are continuing to mop up the perimeter of the fire.
  • The Burn Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team continue to work their way through the burn identifying areas in need of critical stabilization and rehabilitation.
