Northwest Fire Potential Summary
The low exiting this evening will contribute to the persistence of cool temperatures, chances of showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds east of the Cascades today. Warm, sunny conditions will begin Saturday morning and extend into Sunday.Monday evening will see another pulse of rain and thunderstorms move through the northern part of the region which will contribute to stronger winds throughout the region into Tuesday. Tuesday will be the beginning of another warming and drying trend with temperatures increasing into the end of the week. Significant fire potential continues to increase slowly with new lightning ignitions and erratic winds creating the potential for wind driven fires in cured rangeland grasses. Moderate fire behavior can be expected in bitter brush and stressed timber areas.
