Northwest Activity Summary
Mild temperatures on the west side of the Cascades with very widely scattered light precipitation. Seasonal conditions with no precipitation on the east side. No lightning in the Region. Light initial attack activity. Two new large fires in the Yakima area with the Silver Dollar fire threatening the Hanford Site and IMT1, PNW Team 2 (Schulte) ordered.

Silver Dollar WA-SPD-000166. ICT3. 30 mi E of Yakima, WA. Start 7/02. Full Suppression.  Cause: Unknown. 8,000 acres. 0% containment. Brush and grass. Active fire behavior. Level 1 and 2 evacuations. Structures, power infrastructure, and Sage Grouse habitat threatened. The fire is on the Hanford Nuclear site. Road closures in effect. IMT1, PNW Team 2 (Schulte) ordered.
Hwy 12 Milepost 188 WA-WFS-000161. ICT4. City limits of Naches, WA. Start 7/01. Full Suppression.  Cause: Unknown. 500 acres. 0% containment. Grass, timber and brush. Active fire behavior. Level 1 evacuations. Structures and power infrastructure threatened. State mob authorized 7/2. IMT3 Mobilizing.

Sheep Springs OR-DEF-000341. IMT3. 17 mi. NW of Sisters, OR. Start 6/26. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 696 acres (+0). 50% containment. Timber, heavy dead and down. Minimal fire behavior. Continued mop up operations.
 Sutherland Canyon WA-SPD-000121. Local unit control. 13 mi SE of Wenatchee, WA. Start 6/26. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 29,258 acres (+0). 100% containment. Grass and brush. Minimal fire behavior. Evacuations lifted. Transfer of command to local unit occurred at 0600 today. Last report on morning briefing unless significant activity occurs.
 Straight Hollow WA-SPD-000126. Local unit control. 12 mi. E of Wenatchee, WA. Start 6/26. Full Suppression.  Cause: Lightning. 8,458 acres (+0). 100% containment. Grass and brush. Minimal fire behavior. Transfer of command to local unit occurred at 0600 today. Last report on morning briefing unless significant activity occurs.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
New large fire potential remains at background levels, but increased ignitions are expected due to Independence Day. Temperatures will begin to increase, and RH will decrease this week as an upper level ridge builds into the region. Fire danger indices will continue to rise through this week, more rapidly east of the Cascades, with chances of lightning returning around mid-week.
