Northwest Fire Potential Summary
An upper level trough of low pressure will swing through the Northwest Wednesday into Thursday. This feature will create somewhat cooler temperatures along with gusty ridge and gap winds, mainly along and east of the Cascades. Some widely scattered thunderstorms may develop with the trough's passage but most areas will remain dry. A return to hot and unstable conditions moves back into the Northwest later this week through the weekend. Significant fire potential remains elevated in most areas and will increase to high risk due to burning conditions without lightning in Southwest and Southcentral Oregon this weekend.
