Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Although brief, a warming and drying trend will bring an increase in ERC values and fire activity through Tuesday. Offshore winds will be become gusty today across portions of southwestern Oregon, while lighter and more northerly winds will prevail across Washington.
A cold front will bring a few showers to southern Oregon late today, with a better chance for rain showers across Eastern Oregon Tuesday into Wednesday. There is a small threat for isolated lightning during this time.
Much cooler, fall-like, temperatures will sink over the region Wednesday and Thursday. However, humidity values will remain on the low side and the cool air mass will result in gusty Northwest winds that will enhance fire activity.
