Northwest Activity Summary
The last in the series of storms centered on the Pacific Northwest passed through yesterday into last night and lingering in some areas this morning. The final push through the region brought wetting rains even to southeast Oregon and the Columbia Basin. The continued exception is northcentral Washington which remains with relatively little accumulated moisture. Yesterday one new fire was reported in Oregon for no acres. Reported growth on existing large fires was minimal in part due to lack of IR flights.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Several days of cool, wet weather have gone a long way toward reducing fire danger across the geographic area. The accumulation of precipitation has been most effective west of the Cascades in Oregon. However, it has not been as effective in Washington. Nevertheless, ERC values have fallen well below average for late September for the majority of the region. Warming and drying is coming over the weekend and next week but the potential for new large fires remains quite low due to the combination of contributing conditions.
