Northwest Fire Potential Summary
A cold front will move toward Washington Friday and dry out after it crosses the Cascades Friday night. Winds will pick up along the east slopes of the Washington Cascades, the Columbia River Gorge and the Columbia Basin. The increased winds pose an elevated threat for rangeland fires in eastern Washington late Friday andSaturday. Units conducting prescribed burns in eastern Washington burns should be aware of the anticipated rise in winds. Elsewhere, potential for new large fires remains low.
