Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Sunny and dry on Thursday with light winds for the geographic area. On Friday a dry cold front will approach Washington and kick up general winds east of the Washington Cascades late Friday and Saturday. This will boost the potential for rangeland fires in the Columbia Basin on both days. Not much precipitation is expected from this system so fire danger indices won’t decline very much before nudging upward again next week for much of the geographic area.
Units conducting prescribed in eastern Washington burns should be aware of the anticipated rise in winds for late Friday and Saturday.
