Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Currently a large, cold and snowy upper level low pressure area is positioned over the northwestern states, adding to the much needed snowpack across the southern Cascades. A second faster moving, yet weaker system is expected to move into the northwestern quarter of the country Saturday, briefly bringing more snow. A stronger third system will move into the Pacific Northwest Saturday evening from the Gulf of Alaska, taking a southerly track through Oregon. By Tuesday a fourth system will arrive in the NW, followed by a fifth system on Thursday. Mountains along these system tracks should do well for snowfall.
