Northwest Activity Summary
Seasonably normal weather conditions across much of the region yesterday with areas of moderate winds on the east side of the Cascades. Light rain occurred in the Olympics, the Washington Cascades, and extreme northeast portion of Washington. No lightning was detected. There was light initial attack with the largest fire reported at 100 acres in southeast Washington. Minimal fire activity was reported on existing large fires.

Montecito.  WA-WFS-000227. ICT3. 1 mile west of Prosser, WA. Start 6/27. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 2,500 acres. Grass. Minimal fire behavior.  No new information received.
Boxcar 0410 RN. OR-PRD-000410. ICT3. 1/2 mile E of Maupin, OR. Start 6/21. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 100,207 acres. 86% containment.  Timber, brush and tall grass. Minimal fire behavior. Structures, infrastructure and recreational areas threatened. Road and area closures. Includes previously reported South Junction.  No new information received.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Slightly warmer most areas on Friday with a bit less westerly general wind east of the Cascades. Otherwise not much change is expected from weather observed on Thursday. No thunderstorms are forecast for the time being.


Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Main fire threat continues to be in the Columbia River Gorge and in the basins east of the Cascades due to human caused fires and westerly winds. This threat is slightly less on Friday due to less wind and humidity values not critically low.
