9/11/2018 Central Oregon Fire Update

COIDC Update – September 11, 11:00 am

CENTRAL OREGON – Containment numbers continue to climb on the Tepee and Willow Fires and firefighters will continue mopping up today.

The Tepee Fire has now been more accurately mapped at 2,027 acres and is 65% contained. Beginning this evening, this incident will transition to a Type 4 incident management team that will manage it until containment is reached. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office still has in place evacuation notices around the fire. All areas south of Forest Service Road 2015 (Ford Rd), west of Forest Service Road 2016 outside the forest boundary are on a Level 2. All areas south of Forest Service Road 2015 (Ford Rd), west of Forest Service 23 (Spencer Wells Rd), east of Forest Service Road 2016 and north of the forest boundary are on a Level 1. An area closure remains in place on the Deschutes National Forest for the area around and adjacent to the fire area, including the northwest section of the East Fort Rock OHV Trail System. Containment on the Willow Fire is now at 90% and it has been more accurately mapped to be 428 acres. A Type 4 organization will continue mop up fire lines until containment is reached.
