Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Cool and cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected for much of the geographic area over the weekend with rain moving in early Sunday. Most of the rain is anticipated to occur over western Washington and northwest Oregon with lesser amounts moving east of the Cascades. Little precipitation is expected for southwest Oregon. Isolated thunderstorms are possible at times but strikes are not anticipated to be numerous.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Energy Release Component values are expected to continue to decline over the geographic area, falling below average in most PSAs by early next week. Southwest Oregon (PSA NW04) and southeast Oregon (PSA NW12) will likely continue to have the highest fire danger because of the lack of precipitation from incoming weather systems. Overall, initiation of new large fires is low because of a lack of critical combinations of weather, fire danger, and ignition sources.
