4/5/2019 NWCC Morning Brief

Northwest Activity Summary
Early in the week precipitation tracked across the region from southwest to northeast at moderate levels. Later, the pattern changed to the Coastal Range and Cascades receiving heavy amounts of coverage while the lower elevation Columbia and Harney Basin areas received traces. Winds were calm and overcast to partly cloudy skies through the week. Light levels of lightning occurred across the Region. Prescribed fire activity was limited to pile burns and initial attack was light.

A procession of weather systems will move across the region brining precipitation, clouds, and wind to every one of the PSAs at intervals over the next seven days.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger indices remain too low for threat of naturally ignited wildfires. Units should request and review NWS spot weather forecasts during prescribed fire operations.
