Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Cool, moist air over the region driven by upper level offshore low. Widespread showers and wet thunderstorms today into the weekend with wetting rains likely for much of the region. The highest thunderstorm activity this afternoon and evening; potential for severe thunderstorms in NE Oregon and SE Washington with isolated dry thunderstorms possible in Eastern Oregon. Gusty winds in east side basins today as well as anytime in vicinity of storms. Extended outlook calls for warming/drying trend to start July.  Check NWS Fire Weather Planning forecasts for local details

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger indices are decreasing and will be at or below seasonal normal levels for most of region. This will limit fire behavior potential in the short term. Elevated significant fire potential for NW10 today due to anticipated lightning and windy conditions coupled with dry, flashy fuels. Increasing ignition potential is expected over the next several days due to lighting. However, with wet conditions, many fires may holdover until the warming trend next week.
