Twenty-five Mile Fire Update September 22, 2021 Fire Information Line: 509-761-9217 (Daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

Size: 22,117 acres  Total Personnel: 281 (5 crews, 12 engines, 3 helicopters, 17 water tenders, 2 heavy equipment) Containment: 50%  Location: 12 miles NW of Chelan, WA Cause: Under investigation   Southwest Incident Management Team will begin to transition command of the Twentyfive Mile Fire to a Type 3 Organization. As suppression repair activities are completed, personnel will begin to time out and demob or be reassigned to other fires in need. Due to the decrease in fire activity, the last update for the Twentyfive Mile Fire will be released on Friday, September 24, 2021. Update: Fire management is transitioning resources to concentrate on rehab, repair, and recovery. Monitoring and patrolling continues. Crews are securing and mopping up handlines and perimeter roads. Chipping along the roads and containment lines will continue. Crews are using heavy equipment to rehab and repair dozer lines. Road crews will continue to spread gravel and repair damaged roads. The BAER Team (Burned Area Emergency Response) is on site to assess damage and develop a recommendation plan to address stabilization and other recovery issues for the fire area. Weather and Fire Behavior: Warmer and drier weather is forecasted for the next couple of days which should dry out previously wet fuels. This trend will allow for moderate fire behavior comprised of smoldering, backing, creeping and isolated torching. Fire is expected to continue to burn in unburned pockets of fuel in the interior but no significant growth is expected. Evacuations: All evacuation notices related to the Twentyfive Mile Fire have been removed. Closures: The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest has issued an emergency fire closure for some lands in the vicinity of the Twentyfive Mile Fire.
