In the last 24 hours, warm, dry with windy conditions east of the Cascades. 1 new large fire, Buckskin in SW Oregon, reported at 100 acres. Type 2 team ordered. No growth reported on the 2 existing large fires. Reported initial attack activity was moderate, 53 fires for 240 acres. Heaviest commitments of resources were on activity in central and south west OR. Of these, most are staffed and/or lined. No prescribed fire activity reported.

The main large fire threats are from high winds in the Columbia Basin and eastern Cascades and dry conditions in SW Oregon. National activity remains light with no competition for resources.

Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:

Generally sunny skies inland with strong westerly winds in the Columbia Basin and along the east slopes of the Cascades. Potential for large fires is highest in PSAs NW05, NW10, NW06 Thursday and Friday due to the combination of wind and fire danger indices.
