9/21/2016 NWCC Large Fire Brief

Posting frequency will be daily by 0800. While IMTs are mobilized, posting will be by 0700.

Northwest Activity Summary
Fall like temperatures continue over most of the region with warm and dry conditions in the southeast half of Oregon. Light, scattered precipitation in northwestern Washington. Scattered lightning in northwestern Washington. Very light initial attack. No growth and increased containment on existing large fire (Rock Creek). One prescribed fire reported for 217 acres, and multiple units with planned prescribed fires in Oregon and Washington.

Rock Creek WA-OWF-000495. IMT3. 12 miles NW of Naches, WA. Start 9/10. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 1,383 acres (+0). Timber. 95% containment. Minimal fire behavior. Mop-up and suppression repair. Road and trail closures in effect.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
A fall pattern remains over the region through early Friday, with a fast moving front bringing precipitation west of Cascades and a chance of light precipitation on the east side. A high pressure ridge moves over the area bringing a warming and drying trend beginning this weekend.
