Northwest Activity Summary
Cooler overcast conditions over the region for most of yesterday. Northwestern Washington received heavy rains while other areas of the state received wetting to trace amounts of precipitation. West of the Cascades in Oregon, wetting and trace amounts of rain fell, while the eastern part of the state remained dry. Initial attack remains light with no growth on existing large fires. 898 acres of prescribed burning was recorded.

Klondike. OR-RSF-000354. IMT2, NW Team 7 (Knerr). 9 mi NW of Selma, OR. Start 7/15. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 174,446 acres (+0). 75% containment. Minimal fire behavior. Timber. Structures threatened. Evacuation notices. Road, trail and area closures. Precipitation occurred over areas of the fire yesterday. IMT2, NW Team 8 (Johnson) reserved, inbrief planned for 10/27 @ 1600.
Northwest Fire Weather Summary
An active weather pattern will continue into next week as a series of disturbances traverse the region. This morning’s precipitation will continue across Washington and Western and Northern Oregon today before a drier start to Saturday. Another system brings more precipitation starting Saturday afternoon/evening and continuing into the early part of next week; this one is likely to include most of Eastern Oregon in the rain. Local winds will be gusty at times as the systems pass – check your NWS forecast for timing in your area.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
The moist marine air mass and precipitation will moderate fire danger indices over the next several days. The risk for new significant fires will stay low for the foreseeable future.
