Northwest Fire Weather Summary
A drier spell continues through the weekend. There may be a few isolated thunderstorms east of the Cascades. The Columbia Gorge and east side basins will get breezy early in the week as winds shift from a westerly to northerly flow. Midweek winds will return again to a westerly influence. See NWS forecasts for the latest details on thunderstorms and winds in your area.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger indices remain low for threat of significant large wildfires. Lightning strikes are possible through the week but at a lower and isolated level for coverage. Drier conditions will allow continued expansion of activity fuels burning. The changing winds early in the week should create monitoring and holding concerns for prescribed fire managers. Units should request and review NWS spot weather forecasts in preparation for prescribed fire operations as wind could be a concern.
