Lower Crab Creek Fire Update 9:00 a.m. Sun. 08/07/16
Initial attack was successful in keeping the fire from homes. Big thanks
to local fire districts for doing a great job during initial attack.
Updated acreage due to higher quality mapping: 5,924 acres. Overnight
state mobilized firefighters began constructing a a primary containment
line. Containment percentage will be evaluated today. Mop up operations
continue today.
A Red Cross
shelter was open throughout the nightat Royal High School but no
evacuees sought assistance. The shelter is now closed.
With the
command of this fire switched to an incident management team, there will
be daily information released once in the morning and once in the
evening for the duration. If there are any emergencies, we will post
