Very warm across the region with mild winds. No lightning or precipitation. Light initial attack with the largest fire reported at 20 acres in the Columbia Gorge. Increased containment on large fires with some growth reported on the Silver Dollar fire.

Silver Dollar WA-SPD-000166. ICT3. 30 mi E of Yakima, WA. Start 7/02. Full Suppression.  Cause: Unknown. 23,350 acres (+3,350). 61% containment. Brush and grass. Moderate creeping behavior. Structures, power infrastructure, and Sage Grouse habitat threatened. The fire is on the Hanford Nuclear site. Road closures in effect.
Sheep Springs OR-DEF-000341. ICT4. 17 mi. NW of Sisters, OR. Start 6/26. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 696 acres (+0). 65% containment. Timber, heavy dead and down. Minimal fire behavior. Continued mop up operations.
Hwy 12 Milepost 188 WA-WFS-000161. IMT3. City limits of Naches, WA. Start 7/01. Full Suppression.  Cause: Human. 386 acres (+0). 100% containment. Grass, timber and brush. Minimal fire behavior. State mob authorized 7/2.  Last report unless significant activity occurs.
OR-PRD-000422-RN.  ICT3. 9 mi. SE of Clarno, OR. Start 07/03. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 256 (-244) acres. Grass and Brush. Minimal fire behavior. Does not meet large fire criteria.  Last report until significant activity occurs.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Hot, dry, unstable, and breezy conditions will increase in coverage across the region especially along and east of the Cascades. Fuels will continue to cure and help promote fire growth on any existing or new fires. The number of ignitions and large fire potential are expected to increase with the return of some lightning today, tomorrow, and possibly into Friday mostly along and east of the Cascades in Oregon.
