Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Unsettled weather will continue today with showers possible mainly at higher elevations. The thunderstorm threat is reduced as compared to the last two days and is focused primarily in Northeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon. Westerly winds will get breezy through the Eastern Columbia Gorge this afternoon. Relative humidity will stay well above critical levels. The stormy pattern persists in Washington’s northern mountains into the weekend. Extended outlooks call for a warming trend to start in the middle of next week. See local NWS fire weather planning forecast for details.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire potential will remain at or below background levels for early July. We could get a few lightning ignitions over the next few days, but fire behavior will be restrained by elevated fuel moisture and lack of critical fire weather. Independence Day comes with an increased threat for human ignitions.
