Acres: 57 Personnel: 193 Containment: 22% Closures: Pending
Yesterday: More accurate mapping shows actual fire size of 57 acres. Firefighters searched areas east of the fire that had initially been included in the fire footprint and found one spot fire, which was immediately lined and mopped up. Firefighters connected line around the fire. Progress was made on the 4510 and 3300 Roads to improve emergency access and create a contingency line. Firefighters overnighted at two spike camps close to the fire to minimize travel time.
Operations Today: Firefighters will improve the primary line and install hose around the west, south, and east flanks. Firing operations will occur within the interior to bring fire to the primary fire line and establish control of the fire edge to the south. Heavy equipment will continue improvements to the 4510 and 3300 Roads as a contingency line to the northeast. Road improvements will also take place in the road system to the north to improve access by fire personnel.
A Forest closure order is anticipated for the Taneum and Manastash drainages. Roads #3100, #3300, #4510, and #3350 are barricaded closed. Please stay out of the Taneum and Manastash drainages to ensure your own safety as well as safety of fire personnel. Weather: A warming dry weather trend is expected through the week. Winds will be light from the northwest. No chance of precipitation through the end of the week.
