Northwest Fire Weather Summary

Moderate to heavy rain will fall over the Cascades and westward as deeper low pressure crosses the region. Expect occasional moderate rain for the eastern mountains. Snow levels fall as low as 5,500 feet. Embedded wet thunderstorms will occur today and Wednesday. Gusty southwest to west winds peak today east of the Cascades and remain breezy elsewhere. High pressure and drier conditions briefly return late in the week. Offshore flow is expected. Another upper low brings rain next weekend.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary

The combination of fire danger and few ignitions means that new significant fires are unlikely. Units conducting prescribed burns in windy areas on both sides of the Cascades should request and review spot weather forecasts.
