The California Team 4 Complex Incident Management Team (CIMT) took command of the fire at 7 a.m. today. Future updates will be post on the Bridge Fire Inciweb at https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/incident-information/ormaf-bridge-fire
Last night moderating weather and scattered rain showers kept fire activity minimal. The fire flanked towards the south moving towards Forest Service Road (FSR) 2610 and 2612. Today firefighters will continue establishing control lines along FSR 2610 and 2612. Crews and heavy equipment continue to look for strategic places to place control lines north of the fire to limit spread. Aircraft are available to assist firefighters by dropping water on hotspots.
Due to the steep, rugged terrain in which the fire is located and the large amount of heavy, down and dead fuels present, the fire will remain on the landscape until a season ending event such as heavy rain or snow. Firefighters will work to limit the spread of the fire and protect values at risk while accounting for public and firefighter safety.
Weather: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Widespread haze before 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Light and variable wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Safety: There is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) in place around the fire perimeter. Please remember that if you fly, we can’t – so keep personal unmanned aircraft (UAS) out of the air within the TFR.
Closures: Malheur Emergency Closure: Bridge Fire (06-04-01-25-16) To protect public health and safety, fire managers have closed the area around the fire due to fire activity and fire suppression operations. The Forest Order will be effective September 4, 2025, and will remain in effect through December 31, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.
Traffic on Oregon Highway 7 and Oregon Highway 26 is not impacted by this closure, both highways remain open currently.
Reader boards have been placed along Hwy 26, be prepared for increased traffic and smoke to be visible throughout the area, as resources continue firefighting operations. The public is reminded to use caution in these smokey conditions.
