Much cooler across the region yesterday with locally breezy conditions on the east side of the Cascades. Light precipitation occurred in western Washington and parts of western Oregon. No lightning occurred. Light initial attack yesterday with largest reported at 5 acres in eastern Washington. Minimal activity reported on existing large fires.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary
The region is under a zonal upper air pattern, with onshore flow that will persist through the weekend. An upper level trough will move through the area Wednesdayand Thursday bringing the next chance for showers and breezy conditions. Relative humidity should remain high enough to keep the winds from raising any noteworthy risk of significant fire development. Check your local NWS forecasts for details for your area.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
With seasonal weather and fire danger indices in the normal range for this time of year, the threat of significant fires remains at or below normal levels. The 4th of July elevates the risk of human caused ignitions drawing on IA resources. With the holiday landing on a Wednesday, that risk extends for the period encompassing the weekends on either side of the holiday.
