Fire Weather Summary
Sunny and dry over the geographic
area through the weekend. Some increasing westerly winds in the Columbia River
Gorge and Columbia Basin region on Friday. Isolated thunderstorms will creep
north from California into Southern Oregon and drift eastward through Sunday.
Northwest
Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger indices are now high
enough that even moderate amounts of lightning will cause enough fire activity
from new starts to challenge initial attack Friday evening and Saturday. These
appears to be most likely in PSAs NW07 and NW12 but also possible in NW04 as
well. Westerly general winds will increase fire potential in the Columbia River
Gorge and east slopes of the Cascades on Friday then drop off over the weekend.
