Road Closures: SR155 is now open.
Yesterday: Firefighters made significant progress in establishing and securing containment lines. Southeast Washington Type 3 Interagency Incident Management Team 2 assumed command of the fire at 8:00 p.m. and is working with the Washington State Patrol-Fire Marshal’s office for this state mobilization.
Today: Assigned resources will continue to construct containment lines and improve existing ones. Unburned islands of fuel within the perimeter of the fire are expected to continue burning, so community members may detect smoke from these interior sections in the coming days. Visit wasmoke.blogspot.com for local air quality updates.
Evacuations: Evacuations will be re-evaluated this afternoon. This morning, about 40 homes are under Level 2 (Get Set) evacuation orders, in the areas east of Highway 155 between milepost 18 and Osborn Bay Campground Road. Level 3 orders are in place for one residence in the north portion of the fire, and its residents have evacuated. No Level 1 evacuation orders are in place.
