Daily Update Dinner, Grizzly, Brice Creek, Chilcoot and Ridge Fires Total personnel: 201 | Resources: 7 engines, 3 crews, and 3 helicopters
Dinner: Suppression repair continues with firefighters patrolling the perimeter. Containment – 95%
Grizzly: All chipping to reduce fuel load is complete while water bars were constructed on handline to Forest standards to limit erosion. Containment – 0%
Brice Creek: All suppression repair is complete and is in patrol status. Containment – 95%
Chilcoot: Mop up continues on the southern flank of the fire perimeter with the intention of dousing all hot spots. Firefighters are also validating hazard tree mitigation strategies. Containment – 67%
Ridge: A type two hand crew was dispatched to take over suppression repair operations. Road grading continues on Forest Road 3850. Containment – 95%
A temporary flight restriction has been put in place over the fire area to provide a safe environment for air resources and firefighters who are engaged in mop up and suppression actions on the ground.
The closure Order for the Canton Creek area has been lifted by Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Read the Recission of Emergency Closure Order.
There is a forest closure for portions of the Umpqua National Forest in response to fire activity in the area to protect public and wildland firefighter safety.
