Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
A thermal trough has built northward along the OR/WA coast resulting on a dry offshore flow that will persist on through the coming weekend. Strongest east winds are expected today. However, the proximity of the thermal trough will keep low level instability over Western OR/WA and this combined with the dry offshore flow will keep burning conditions elevated west of the Cascades on into early next week. A potential lightning event looms for early next week but confidence still shaky.
