Northwest Activity Summary
Seasonal temperatures with gusty winds on the east side. Moderate precipitation on the west side and in NE Washington. Some lightning in NE Washington, SW Oregon and the John Day Highlands. Light initial attack. Increased containment on the East Maury fire. Five prescribed fires reported 135 acres completed. Multiple units with planned prescribed fires. The Northwest dropped to Preparedness Level 1.

0624 RS East Maury, OR-OCF-000624. ICT4. 11 miles SE of Post, OR. Start 9/29. Full Suppression. Cause: Human. 1,400  acres (+1,150). 25% containment. Timber and slash. Active fire behavior with torching. Private lands, campgrounds and Sage-grouse habitat threatened. Road closures.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Cooler and wetter conditions are moving in with a corresponding decline in fire danger. Some isolated wet thunderstorms are possible over the next several days. Precipitation chances increase later in the weekend and into next week.
